Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
BGRemover ("we", "our", or "the Service") operates the website bgremover.top, a free AI background removal tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have — including rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA).
Your images never leave your device. All background removal runs locally in your web browser via WebAssembly. We do not upload, store, transmit, or have any access to the photos you process.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
- Your images. Photos you open in BGRemover are processed entirely on your own device. They are never sent to our servers or any third party.
- Accounts. The Service requires no registration, so we hold no names, passwords, or profile data.
- Payment data. The Service is free; we collect no billing information.
2. Information Collected Automatically
Like almost all websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs when pages are delivered to you. These logs may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. We use logs only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website (legal basis: legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Logs are rotated automatically and are not combined with other datasets.
The AI model file (approximately 5 MB) is downloaded from our server to your browser cache when you first use the tool. This download appears in the same standard server logs; the model contains no personal data and performs no tracking.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
- Preference storage. We may store your selected interface language in your browser's local storage. This is strictly functional, contains no personal identifiers, and is never transmitted to us.
- Advertising cookies. We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (such as the DART cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time via Google Ads Settings, or via www.aboutads.info/choices. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, ads are served in line with Google's EU user consent requirements; non-personalized ads can be selected through the consent options shown where applicable.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google AdSense (advertising) — privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- jsDelivr CDN — delivers open-source JavaScript libraries (onnxruntime-web, JSZip) to your browser. jsDelivr may process your IP address transiently to deliver files; see its privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Your GDPR Rights (EEA / UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17);
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- Data portability (Art. 20);
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21);
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (Art. 7(3));
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at guichenli86@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
6. Your CCPA/CPRA Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect, use, and disclose (this Policy describes them — essentially limited to automatic server logs and advertising cookies);
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. Advertising cookies described above may constitute "sharing" under the CPRA; you may opt out via the ad-settings links in Section 3 or by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor;
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Requests can be sent to guichenli86@gmail.com. We will verify and respond within 45 days as required by law.
7. Data Retention
Since your images are processed locally and never reach us, there is nothing to retain from your use of the tool itself. Server logs are retained for a limited period necessary for security and operations (typically under 90 days) and then deleted or anonymized through log rotation.
8. Security
The website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because image processing happens on your device, the most sensitive data — your photos — remains under your control at all times.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country. Because we collect only minimal automatic log data, transfers are limited to what is technically necessary to deliver the website to your browser.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
